Jill has over twenty years of trial and appellate experience in state and federal courts in Connecticut and Texas in the areas of business/commercial litigation and labor and employment law and routinely appears before state and federal agencies including the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (the "CHRO"), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Department of Labor.

Jill has been admitted to practice law in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Texas and is admitted to the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and the United States Supreme Court. Attorney Hartley graduated cum laude from the University of Texas in 1984 with a B.A. in Political Science and from the University of Houston School of Law with high honors in 1989.

Jill practiced with Thompson & Knight LLP, a large law firm in Dallas, before returning to the state of Connecticut where she grew up. Throughout her legal career, Attorney Hartley has continued to serve international, national, regional and local companies of all sizes both directly and as a result of insurance coverage (Jill has served as panel counsel for several major insurance carriers). As a result, Jill enjoys a diverse and sophisticated client-base. These clients find that Jill is extremely responsive to their needs and is able to provide them with the type of individualized legal advice that they require. As a sole practitioner with former big firm experience, a variety of litigation matters are often referred to Jill by her insurance defense firm colleagues in the event of a conflict.
